especially bracket, racing is not easy, even in an AUTO car. There's alot of things going on before the run, during the run, and after the run, to make it a successful pass! For that entire 60 seconds or so, there's a ton of things to do. And just to give people an idea, here's my procedure: - pre-run general car check (which is a list in itself) - safety equipment check - boost controller check - 1st gear pre burnout check - turn on nProbe & wideband O2 datalogging on the PDA's - roll up to the water box - do the burnout till you see decent tire smoke - roll up to the staging beams - hit record on the Defi gauges (which I always forget) - stage the car (and I courtesy stage) - raise the revs by foot & e-broke to the proper launch rpm - watch the lights fall - GAS & e-brake down - pray for no wheel spin - correct steering if the tires spin and car goes sideways - hang on for the ride and watch the other car - glance at rear view mirror for any smoke - if bracket racing, prepare to lift off the gas - cross the traps and hit the brakes - on hot day, turn on the heater full blast to cool motor - on hot day, roll the windows down - make sure you turn off before the sand trap :-) It's a very stressful ~60 seconds! Again, not easy!
